Chris and Heidi Smith

Chris and Heidi Smith, partners at Grace Fellowship since 2005, served Grace Fellowship in many capacities while living in Ohio. Since December of 2018, they’ve been serving in Cambodia with Roots of Grace Cambodia, a ministry launched because of what they had seen on a short-term mission trip.

Both Heidi and Chris had very successful careers in America. Heidi pursued a career in dentistry and Chris held multiple positions in the business world. Then God called them into the mission field to serve the families and children living on the streets in Battambang, Cambodia.

So, they obeyed and went.

Chris and Heidi studied the language of Cambodia, Khmer, and now spend their days leading Roots of Grace Cambodia and BrightStart Learning, along with 40 staff members. They focus their time sharing the Gospel across nine villages, ministering to 66 local children at the Roots of Grace Ministry Center, eight students in the Ready to Grow preschool, over 400 students per month at the BrightStart Learning study centers, and 20 university and high school students at The Path, their dorm-style houses for women. Each week, they reach more than 1,200 people across Battambang. 

Here’s how you can partner with Christ & Heidi:

• Pray the Gospel continues to move through local villages!
• Pray for more workers to help in the harvest – they currently seek those with vocational skills such as welding, plumbing, and electrical, to share their gifts short-term. 
• Pray for new believers to grow in their discipleship and new missionaries to help them.
• Praise God for the almost five acres purchased in December 2023 for ministry expansion and pray for the building project in late 2024. 
• Partner with them financially to cover monthly ongoing needs.
